  1. Refresh your self-care list. What is soothing and brings you joy?
  2. Spend time in nature. The sun, the clouds, the fog and all remain gloriously present.
  3. Create a web of love, seeking and providing support from/for your closest support network.
  4. Minimize all media exposure while you strengthen your internal and external resources. Avoid doom scrolling.
  5. Do not engage with those who are behaving in an inflammatory, antagonistic or invalidating way. Walk away, hang up or log out.
  6. Refocus on hope and carefully nurture it.
  7. Create an uplifting and energizing playlist. Music can not only be stress reducing but mood lifting.
  8. Get involved. Harness negative emotions into meaningful action to propel you forward. (OR stay quiet, reflective and focused.)
  9. Take slow, mindful breaths throughout the day to keep you anchored in the moment.
  10. Commit to projecting kindness. In helping others, your happiness and well-being can also receive a boost.

“How can I make sure that, in the maelstrom of my emotions, I stay committed to courage, kindness and caring for others regardless of the choices made by others? Doing the smallest next right thing is hard AF, but sometimes it’s all we’ve got.”
