We never go into our marriages thinking, I better gather some verses for the times when we don’t see eye-to-eye and things get really hard. Yet, here you are, wading through a season in your marriage that is truly difficult, and you are struggling. As beautiful as marriage can be, it can also come with some emotional baggage and a pull at the heartstrings. Right? After all, it is joined together by two flawed human beings. He knows we are apt to bend toward sin and seek selfishness, which is why He commands us to submit to one another and serve out of love (Ephesians 5:21). God is also well aware that this relationship centered around “love” and meant for good, is going to catch the eye of the enemy, which is why He commands us to seek Him – first (Matthew 6:33).Can you see this delicate balance of waging war with our sin and evil while leaning into love? Of course, this is going to be difficult, and we are going to encounter some struggles.
