Day by day, we often hear lots of reports and hear stories of famous personalities having an affair with someone else, whether they are politicians, famous actors and actresses, models, athletes and even leaders of a church. The news are truly heart-breaking, but whether we like it or not, people often ends up committing adultery simply because humans get tempted so easily. If you are one of these people and you would like your spouse to know about your affair without hurting your marriage, here the steps that you can take.

First Step – Preparation

There are so many things that you must consider before you go straight to your spouse and confess the affair. You should not just go straight to her and tell her about it right on the spot because this could potentially lead to an even bigger problem. Think real hard and look for the right timing before you confess to your spouse about the affair. Make sure though that you are already out of the affair and that you are certain that you will no longer be doing the same mistakes ever again.

Second Step – Confession

As soon as you have found the perfect time to confess your affair to your spouse, then do it right away without hesitation because you probably will not be able to find another time to do it in the future. Make sure that no other people are around when you talk to your wife and make sure that the kids will not be able to hear what you are going to confess to your wife. Start by telling her that you could hurt her with what you are going to say and make her understand that you are still hoping for your marriage to be saved even after the confession.

Step Three – Yearn for Forgiveness

This next step is the most difficult of all because it is never easy to ask for forgiveness from someone whom you have greatly hurt. Make her feel that you are sincere with your apology so she will accept it along with an assurance that you no longer will be doing it ever again. If your partner tells you that she’s not ready to accept your apology yet, then do not force the issue on her. It could take longer before your wife would freely accept what happened and even longer for her to forgive you.

Fourth Step – Finish Off

If your spouse would ask you to give her some time to digest everything that has happened, then give her the time and the space that she needs. What you did is too painful on her part so it will never be too easy for her to forgive you. And while waiting for the time to come that she will forgive you, make sure that you do good deeds to prove that you have really changed for the better. And after several months of waiting, finish off the issue by asking her if she is willing to talk about it with you again.

Keep in mind that once you committed an affair with your spouse, the marriage will no longer be the same afterwards. So before you get yourself involved with an affair, think about your future first. If you truly care about your marriage, then forget the idea of having an affair and focus on your marriage instead.
